Ishan Meswani is a member of 8090’s investment team focused on decarbonization. Prior to 8090, Ishan worked in operating and investing roles across India and the US. As a consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York, Ishan advised various corporations across a wide range of industries on their business strategies, and also conducted multiple due diligence analyses for cleantech firms.

While in India, Ishan held multiple roles at Reliance Industries Limited, working out of the Office of the Chairman. He worked on numerous corporate venture deals, including the acquisition, scale-up and certification of a futuristic personal rapid transit system to solve urban mobility challenges. He also formulated strategy and developed analytical tools for the Mumbai Indians during the IPL player auction (India’s largest franchise sports league), and contributed to the launch of Reliance Jio, India’s largest 4G telecom network. Outside of Reliance, Ishan also worked on the creation of a billion dollar infrastructure and investment fund, leading the project team that put together the pitch decks and investor presentations and also identified, developed, and evaluated potential investment opportunities.

Ishan graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and also received an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS). He has always been passionate about climate change, and was the first student to complete a minor in environment and sustainability at MIT.
